I met Alexandria Alli, the entrepreneur and fierce handbag designer behind her very own brand F&W Style, on Instagram @fwstyle. We started following each other as fellow mompreneurs, connected a few times over the phone to share some business insights, and that was the start of our virtual friendship. Alexandria's energy simply radiates from her daily posts and her style is spot on. She balances work and home life with grace, poise, and quite frankly, makes it look easy and stylish all at the same time. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
As the founder of F&W Style, tell us more about your brand and how you started your company.
I started my brand almost ten years ago. I felt that there was a void in the market for handbags that were both luxury and affordable, so I set out to change that. I started F&W Style! We provide luxury, well crafted, colorful, unique leather handbags all at an affordable price.
What is the inspiration behind your handbag designs?
I am inspired by everyday stylish women. I am inspired by how they juggle family life, a career, and social life with style and grace! I always thrive to provide handbags that will fit in all aspects of her life.
What is your biggest entrepreneurial challenge?
My biggest entrepreneurial challenge is time! Finding enough time in the day to do it all.
What has been your biggest milestone?
There have been several milestones along the way but one of my favorites is getting in to MACYS!
Being mom to two kids, how do you balance family and work life?
I have learned that instead of trying to balance it all, I just focus on doing one thing at a time. When I’m having family time I try my best to focus solely on them, and the same when I’m working.
To women who are thinking of starting their own businesses, what’s the one advice you’d give them?
My one advice is, "Just do it!" Don’t let not knowing it all stop you...we all learn along the way.
Now let’s talk fashion… how would you describe your overall style?
My style is classic yet vibrant! I love colorful pieces in classic styles.
Who’s your celebrity style crush?
I have a few style crushes! Gabrielle Union, Blake Lively, SJP!
What’s your go-to outfit when you’re pressed for time?
A bold colored dress and coordinating accessories.
What’s your fashion or beauty indulgence?
Other than handbags... I would say dresses!
Which shoe brand do you love most?
I love Ted Baker shoes.
What’s your favorite shoe style?
I like bold colored or sparkly shoes.
What is it that you like about the line of products by Protect My Shoes?
I love that it protects my shoes from being squished when I travel!
What is your dream travel destination?
Greece is next on my travel bucket list.
If you could have dinner with three special guests, who would they be?
I would have dinner with Michelle Obama, Will Smith, and Oprah!
